Carers – look after yourself and the people you care for this winter

Are you a carer or do you know someone who is?

If you claim Carers Allowance you can get a free flu jab via the GP or pharmacist.

Getting the flu jab is a quick and simple way to protect yourself and those you look after from a potentially serious infection.

If you look after someone who has a learning disability please ensure they get the flu jab too. Please get in touch with your local pharmacy or GP who can help arrange this.

Learning Disability Register at the GP

It’s also important that people with learning disabilities, or their carers, ask to go onto the Learning Disability Register at their surgery – this ensures they receive an Annual Health Check, get extra time at appointments if needed and get their Health Action plan completed.

And remember, if you have a learning disability you should make sure you get the flu jab too.
